KANDIA – “All Is Gone”
All is gone
Their 2010 album already caught my attention for its strong sound with some EVANESCENCE and LACUNA COIL influences, while establishing their very own progressive sound, showcasing the distinctive vocals of front woman Nya Cruz.
Three years later and funded by their fans, KANDIA released their full potential with “All Is Gone”, an album that hits you in the face with the force of heavy bass, double bass-drums, intense guitar riffs and the beautiful power of their female singer. Let’s not forget the electronic touches that complement the dark atmosphere of the album, even with a hint of dubstep – but in positive way.
If you’re not familiar with this Portuguese band, you’re missing out on something big.
Surprisingly for an album this heavy, it lacks guitar solos and track-length with ‘Deviant’ being the longest song at mere 5 minutes and 3 seconds. But that’s exactly how I like it: short and powerful, direct to the point; the point being some great music with unique vocals and soulful lyrics. Highlights? Hell yeah! ‘New Breed’, ‘Deviant’, the single ‘Scars’ and the ballad ‘Bother’, make sure to give them a try!
