NIGHTWISH – “Decades“ World Tour 2018
After two decades active, NIGHTWISH is one of the most successful metal bands in our time and one with the most epic songs, too. Every one of us knows at least one song by NIGHTWISH. For some of us, NIGHTWISH has been our favorite band at some point or another. The spectrum of different styles and sounds find a listener in every genre and every age, even though when NIGHTWISH started back in 1996 many of us were little kids or not even born yet.
A unique combination of classical music and Metal, NIGHTWISH created something completely new.
With their unique combination of classical music and (Power) Metal, NIGHTWISH created something new when they founded the band. You can say: NIGHTWISH are the parents of all the amazing Symphonic Metal bands like EPICA, DELAIN or WITHIN TEMPTATION. You can also truly say that without them and their bravery doing something that no band had tried before, many of these bands wouldn’t exist today because many say that NIGHTWISH was their role model!
In these two decades, NIGHTWISH has had three amazing singers. Starting with TARJA, who is still very successful in the music business and performs all over the world – the band is currently very happy with frontwoman Floor Jansen, who can sing both the more classical songs, which were written with and for TARJA and the more musical-like songs, which Tuomas Holopainen wrote for and with ex-singer Anette Olzon.
With each of these singers, NIGHTWISH could beat their own previous success and continue their story. Now, after two decades of amazing music, epic shows, and unique voices, they celebrate their career with a big world tour, which will stop Europe as well. This fall, NIGHTWISH will come and rock the stages of many European cities and for sure they will play the best songs of two decades with a breath-taking show and many surprises!
