Dark metallers SOON played in Leipzig and made a lot of new fans.
The dark metallers [SOON] from Hamburg visited Leipzig and played at the gothic party „Schwarzes Leipzig tanzt“. As it is normal for this city, the band started with their set an hour later than planned. The three-piece doesn’t use a bass but managed to play the deeper tunes with the guitar.
[SOON] started the gig with ‘Stand out from the crowd’ – perfect motto for the evening, but the place was empty. But the party people on the other floors realized quiet fast there was a band playing and came to see the dark metallers perform.
Unfortunately, at the beginning the band had problems with the sound – the drummer wasn’t able to hear some of the tunes and the singer’s microphone wasn’t set best way. But during the gig, they fixed the problems and for their acoustic set, everything sounded as it should. [SOON]’s performance of ‘Another Try’ and ‘Trust’ worked good and showed another facet of the band’s sound.
Their singer Eric motivated the audience to come closer to the stage and rock with the band – and the later the evening went, the more people stood before the band and started dancing. And the sound remained good! ‘Pressure’, ‘Lonely way’ and ‘On a string’ sounded as good as the rest of the set!
After the final song ‘Desperate’, [SOON] left the stage, but the audience – now the place was nearly crowded – asked for more. The band played ‘All I wanted’ and ‘Buried’ in addition and then went to their merchandise booth to talk to their old and new fans. And now I understand the meaning of the band’s name, when I write: Come back [SOON]!
