PREVIEW: CASTLE ROCK Festival 2021
The CASTLE ROCK FESTIVAL has taken place annually since 2000 in Mülheim an der Ruhr. Mülheim is not necessarily a big city and when it comes to concerts, there are rather small venues with rather unknown bands. With castle Broich, however, this city attracts thousands of visitors every year. After a 2-years break because of construction works at Schloss Broich and 2020 the Corona Virus pandemic, the festival’s 20-year anniversary party will take 2021!
Many festivals in Germany have unfortunately disappeared from the scene. But the CASTLE ROCK FESTIVAL still exists and every year it becomes a meeting of old acquaintances and an opportunity to meet new friends. A special feature of the festival is also the child-friendliness! It’s not everywhere that families with children are welcome or allowed. But the CASTLE ROCK FESTIVAL welcomes all families.
CASTLE ROCK – “small” festival, big line-up.
Over the years, the CASTLE ROCK FESTIVAL has built up to a line-up worthing showing off. Bands like DELAIN, AMORPHIS, LACUNA COIL, EPICA, SUBWAY TO SALLY, EISBRECHER, MONO INC. and UNHEILIG all have performed there in the past.
In 2021, the festival takes place on July 2nd and 3rd at Schloss Broich with performances by LORD OF THE LOST, JOACHIM WITT, LORDI, VLAD IN TEARS and AEVERIUM among others.
Apart from the excellent line-up, the festival also impresses every year with good food on-site and “real” toilets, which are really clean even at the later hours!
Tickets are available now and the combined ticket for both days costs 56 Euros, the one-day-ticket for Friday is available for 34 Euros and the Saturday ticket for 45 Euros. So, the price is absolutely ok for the line-up and an absolute MUST for all those, who live nearby.
For all of you who don’t know the Schloss Broich and are surprised about the early end of the festival: the area is in the middle of the city center and because of the adjacent houses, the noise protection of the local residents must, of course, be taken into consideration. But the early end does not detract from the very good atmosphere!
