DIABULUS IN MUSICA – “Argia”
Argia
DIABULUS IN MUSICA just released their fourth album “Argia” and are again supported by famous guest musicians: Sirenia singer Ailyn Gimérez – also a Spanish singer – sings the Spanish mid-tempo song “Furia De Libertad” together with Zuberoa in their mother tongue. For “Encounter At Chronos’ Maze” DIM invited Therion’s Thomas Vikström. It’s a dark and heavy song in which the singers combine their opera voices supported by a choir to an impressive sound. This song could be performed on an opera stage – if you spent out the growls, of course.
Next stair to a higher league.
In total, DIM recorded eleven songs and two interludes. One of the best songs is the six minutes ballad “Maitagarri” with a melodramatic, catchy chorus. The band shows it’s attitude to heavy metal with the strong and impelling “Spoilt Vampires”. For “Inner Force” the band recorded a video clip. If you can speak of a pop song on “Argia”, this would it be. Zuberoa proves that she can not only sing opera metal.
The band follows it’s trademarks.
Another sweet ballad is “Indigo”, a slow and soft song. But this is just the silence before the final storm: “Healing” combines the strong aspects of the album and the listener once again recognizes Zuberoa has one of the most beautiful voices on the planet. DIABULUS IN MUSICA concentrate on their trademarks, so there are no surprises on “Argia”. If you love symphonic metal, you’ll also like this album, but DIM still haven’t achieved the level a band like Nightwish plays. But they are on their way.
