T-shirt modification #3 – Pimp up some advertising
Last night at the pub, I got a present! No, not only the hangover the morning after, but also a Jägermeister Top! Okay, just as one of a mass, but hey, still a
little surprise of the evening. Buuut, hmmm, a black Top? I already have over a hundred? Boring.
Inspired by the other t-shirt alteration tutorials on our magazine I decided to pimp it up after getting over the hangover. I walked into the kitchen, took a sharp knife and… Yeah, what? Destroyed it! But in a good way – I hope I reached my goal… You can see the result on the picture. A destroyed-look for the freebie cloth, I think it fits very well for the upcoming festival season!
T-shirt alteration – a tutorial.
Simple. If you know what you want to do. I decided to do three different styles, so I get an asymmetric Top. A few details create an exciting and a little bit extravagant look.
For the little cut-outs in the shoulder area, take the sharp knife’s point. Put a paperboard under the area where you want to work. Cut and scratch over a short distance for each cut-out. Don’t worry, if it doesn’t work the first time, you need some patience. Do it again and again until the little crack is big enough for you. Repeat it as often as you like. I made one shoulder and the neck area in that style.
The other shoulder part is easier. Just take an old hair tie and knot it three or four times around the strap. Of course, there are also other materials you can use: Ribbons, threads, whatever you have at home. It just should create a strong knot!
The third detail is the open side. Cut a little bit near to the side seam of the top. Tear it to your liking. I did it up to the waist. To make it easier, you can mark your stop point with a pin.
And now: Good luck!
Oh, by the way: This should be no Jägermeister advertising in any way. 😉
