Hansel & Gretel: Witch Hunters
You could call it a sequel of the Grimm brother’s fairytale.
Hansel and Gretel grew up and because of their experience with the witch that caught them and tried to eat them, they became witch hunters. They travel from village to village and get paid for hunting and killing witches. But for Hansel the time in the witch’s house left an illness – he now is a diabetic and has to inject insulin.
The story leads Hansel and Gretel to a new village. Eleven children are missing and the villagers are sure that witches are responsible. Now, the siblings try to find them and kill the witches.
No matter what you do, don’t eat the f**king candy!
The story is very simple but the it comes to life by very good actors – Jeremy Renner is one of my favourite artists, Gemma Arteron does a good job, too, and being the queen of the witches suits Famke Janssen really well – a lot of humour and cool action scenes. The weapons are awesome, too.
Hansel and Gretel: Witch Hunters for me has the perfect mixture of action, emotion and fun. And there are also some surprises that give extra spice to the story. But you shouldn’t watch the movie for a profound story. Above all, it is an action movie which is even better in 3D (and I don’t like 3D that much). With many funny scenes and quotes it never gets boring.
